Antique Knights of Pythias Ceremonial Sword
Item Details
A circa 1900 antique ceremonial sword by the Pettibone Manufacturing Company of Cincinnati. It has a knight’s head pommel and is marked “Knights of Pythias”, a secret society and fraternal organization. The initials “FCB” for the Pythian values of “Friendship, Charity, and Benevolence” adorn the sheathe above an image of Samson tearing down the pillars of the temple of Dagon. The blade is 30’ long, thin, and straight, and etched with scrollwork designs, Pythian motifs, and the name of the former owner, Murray Connolly.

- markings and wear present throughout; consistent with age and use; chain is broken.
