Collection of Five Pyrogravure Portraits in Wood
Item Details
A set of five pyrogravure portraits. Each work is rendered with imagery burnt into a vertically-oriented piece of rectangular wood. Included is a portrait of a crying woman in side profile, signed ‘JM’ to the lower left. Also featured are two portraits of female figures and two portraits of male figures, each shown in side profile and wearing traditional African attire. One portrait is signed ‘MK’ to the lower left, while another is signed ‘M.B.’; the other two works are unsigned.

- wear to edges and corners; items do not include frames or hanging hardware.
