Pair of Papua New Guinean Spears

A pair of Papua New Guinean spears. The spears feature wooden handles attached to metal points with cord and rope, one includes an intricate face carving along its side and the other is wrapped with black feathers at its handle. There is an attached green tag which reads ‘Tambanum Village’, the largest village along the Sepik River in Papa New Guinea known for their tribal decorative carvings and art.

- signs of wear; oxidation to metal; some splits to the wood; cord and rope worn, discolored, and frayed in places.
