Pair of Vintage Watercolor on Paper Paintings Depicting Potosi, Bolivia
Item Details
A pair of vintage watercolor on paper paintings. Each depicts a street scene from a village in Potosi, the capitol of Bolivia, painted using faded earth tones. The lower right corners feature handwriting in Spanish. One is marked ‘Casa del Conde de Potosi’ and ‘Casa del Conde de Carma Potosi’ and the other is marked ’La calle de las 7 vueltas. They are both meant for someone named James R. Matz, dated 1961 and 1965. They are set with a white border and present behind glass in a black frame.
Condition
- one item shows water damage to the corner.
- some marks and wear to frames.
