A pair of Wedgwood plates from 1971 and 1972 celebrating motherhood. This lot features dark blue and light green Jasperware dishes each with an image of a mother and child. The dark blue item with a gold tone wreath at the rim depicts a classical scene with a woman bouncing a cherub, and the word ‘Mother’ written below the scene. It is marked to the base ‘Wedgwood – Made In England – 71’. The light green piece with white bas-relief depicts an 18th-century scene of a mother sewing while her child holds the scissors.Written in a bas-relief medallion is ‘Mother 1972’. This plate is marked to the base ‘Wedgwood – Made In England – 72 – WP’.
