A set of two restrike woodblock prints on paper after Japanese artist Hasegawa Sadanobu III (1881 – 1963). Featured are Kosho – Bunraku Puppet (武田勝頼) and Sakuramaru – Bunraku Puppet (舎人桜丸). Each depicts a kabuki actor in colorful patterned robes, with Japanese calligraphy, artist’s seal and publisher’s stamp to the outer margins. The prints are matted in brown and presented under glass in metallic wooden frames with hanging wire to the verso.

Condition

- some toning and foxing to paper; minor wear to frames.
