A hand-knotted Tabriz area rug. This wool rug features birds on meandering vines and flowers in a palette of red, mauve, olive green, tan, turquoise, orange, and midnight blue on a cream field, with large colorful bird forms throughout. The primary border offers a repeating pattern of palmettes and rosettes with birds. The rug is finished with overcast selvedge edges and a cotton warp fringe at either end. Unlabeled.
