Antique German Figure of a Cherub

Item Details

An antique porcelain figure of a cherub. The piece stands on a footed base and a cornucopia shaped vase resting against the putto who holds a bunch of grapes. The figure is draped at the waist suggesting Victorian era modesty. It is likely the figure was produced in the second half of the nineteenth century. There is a KPM pad mark on the underside, this should not be confused with Konigliche Porzellan Manufacktur in operation since the eighteenth century. The letters KPM do not qualify for legal protection under German copyright law so many factories use them in an attempt to take market share.
