A Gay Badenoch (1920 – 2003) original oil painting titled Mountain Blizzard. The abstract style painting features short brush strokes in a palette of primary colors to bring to life the artist’s interpretation of a mountain blizzard. Badenoch, born in 1920 in Boston Massachusetts, lived in New York, San Francisco, and Michigan with the highlight of her career being a three week painting trip to China in 1983 set up by renowned artist, Richard Yip. Badenoch painted mostly in oils, acrylics, watercolors, and pastel. Her style was mostly impressionistic and abstract. The painting is signed in graphite to the lower right and dated ’75. The work is surrounded in a wooden frame, without glass, and picture wire is attached to the reverse for hanging.
