Ukiyo-e Woodblock Print After Hiroshige's "Izumi Province"

A woodblock on paper after Utagawa Hiroshige’s (歌川 広重, 1797-1858) Izumi Province: Takashi Beach (和泉: 高師のはま) from the series Famous Places in the Sixty-Odd Provinces (六十余州名所図絵), circa 1910. Depicted is a coastal scene with a group of buildings in the wooded space to the foreground and several boats on the harbor. In the background can be seen a small mountain range. The series and print titles are printed in the upper right and the artist’s ‘Hiroshige hitsu’ (広重筆) signature is printed in-block in the lower left. To the verso of the mounting is a COA from David & Natasha Deighton (Antique Maps & Works on Paper Ltd.). Presented on a white mounting with gold-toned lining and an acetate cover.

- some minor foxing and paper discoloration.
