A hand-knotted Tabriz area rug. This wool rug features a medallion with pendants with peonies, rosettes, tulips and lancet leaves that meander across the cream field in a palette of sky blue, crimson, midnight blue, olive green, tan, and burnt orange. The primary border offers a herati pattern flanked by carnation guard borders. The rug is finished with overcast edges and a wool warp fringe at either end. The rug has a tag from the dealer but is otherwise unlabeled.
