A handwoven wool area rug. It was woven in a variegated palette of sapphire, crimson, shades of gray, and black. It features a series of geometric medallions, shields, and tribally derived motifs over a crimson field. Framing the field is a border grounded in sapphire, with crenellated lateral segments and top and bottom panels featuring cartouche-shaped medallions. Edges are overcast on all sides.
