An original oil painting on canvas by contemporary Italian-American artist Joseph Baris (born 1939), titled La Stalla e la Meta. The painting depicts an Impressionist rendering of a clearing in the midst of a wooded wilderness, home to a quaint farm. A gigantic hay bale occupies the foreground, dwarfing a farmer walking along nearby outside of a wooden barn. Artist signature is signed in paint to the lower right. The painting is mounted in a contemporary wood frame with a gold leaf finish, equipped to hang. Additional information about the artist is attached to the verso.
Baris immigrated to Cincinnati in 1956, where he studied periodically under Roland Huston and Chuck Marshall. Joseph’s work is held in private and corporate collections and he has shown in many galleries. He is also a member of the Cincinnati Art Club and the American Impressionist Society.
