Hand-Knotted Tekke Bokhara Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Tekke Bokhara runner. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of dusty pink, ivory, cherry red, and midnight blue. It features a lattice pattern containing two rows of Tekke guls interspersed with Chemche bow and arrow guls over a dusty pink field. Framing the field are five geometric wraparound borders including a major border containing boxed guls in ivory and blue or red and blue over a pink ground. These are bookended at the top and bottom by a pair of horizontal panels containing ram’s horns and crenelated segments of diamond-shaped guls over dusty pink with a horizontal row of florets at the top. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with unbound wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
