An Indo-Persian wool rug. This small area rug is hand-knotted in a palette of coral-pink, cornsilk, cream, and jade. It features an allover floral design incorporating large scale palmettes, swirling vines, flowers, and leaves over an abrashed coral-pink field. Framing the field are two borders, including a primary border grounded in cornsilk and featuring a pattern of large and small alternating palmettes; the outer edges of this border feature notches in jade and cream with black edging, creating an effect of stitching. The outer guard border is coral pink. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with unbound, tan wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
