An original oil painting on canvas by contemporary Italian-American artist Joseph Baris (born 1939), titled Prati e Monti. The painting depicts an Impressionist rendering of a field of tall, swaying grass and wildflowers dotted with whimsical trees. A glimpse of a magnificent mountain range is seen on the horizon. Artist signature is signed in paint to the lower left. It is presented in a contemporary wooden frame with a gold tone finish, equipped to hang. Additional information about the artist is attached to the verso.
Baris immigrated to Cincinnati in 1956, where he studied periodically under Roland Huston and Chuck Marshall. Joseph’s work is held in private and corporate collections and he has shown in many galleries. He is also a member of the Cincinnati Art Club and the American Impressionist Society.
