Joan Camo Sentis Original Large-Scale Oil Hunting Scene on Canvas
Item Details
An original large-scale oil painting on canvas by well-listed Spanish artist Joan Camo Sentis (1920 – 2001), depicting a 19th-century hunting genre scene. Painted with a 19th-century Rococo revivalist aesthetic, the image depicts a group of men on foot and on horseback promenading through the wilderness with their pack of dogs, exhibiting great jubilance. Artist signature is signed to the lower right. This work is mounted behind a linen liner in a wood frame with cast pierced embellishments, equipped to hang.
Condition
- craquelure and accretion across painting. Notable areas of paint loss, particularly to right of center. Curious inpainting to lower left. Painting appears to be restretched on newer bars.
Dimensions
- measurements include frame.
