Handwoven Native American-Style Area Rug
Item Details
A handwoven Native American-style area rug. This wool rug is woven in a palette similar to Navajo Klagetoh rugs of New Mexico. Amid the palette of gray, ivory, black, brown-olive, and red, the rug features a geometric lightning-bolt design beginning with an eight-pointed star over a variegated gray field. Outlined in black and grounded in ivory, the star encloses a four-directional arrow emblem. The field is populated with chains of geometric motifs, eight of which originate at the corners of the central medallion. Framing the field are a narrow border of black and an outer guard border of ivory. Edges are hand-finished on all sides. There are no fringes or cords at the corners. The rug is unlabeled.
