Vintage Handwoven Native American-Style Rug
Item Details
A handwoven Native American-style accent rug. This wool rug is woven in a palette of ivory, gray, black, and tan. It features a design similar to Navajo Two Grey Hills rugs of New Mexico. The geometric design begins with two sharply sawtoothed, tan-colored diamond medallions, each of which is enclosed in a black, stepped hexagon. The hexagons, in turn, rest on a gray, stepped diamonds, over an ivory-colored field. The field is bracketed with stepped polygons in tan and black. Framing with field is a tan and black border with in-pointing sawteeth on the sides. Edges are hand-finished on all sides, while two of the corners end with a short cord. The piece is unlabeled.
