Decorative Majolica Plates Including Etruscan Majolica

A selection of four decorative majolica plates, including one from Etruscan Majolica. This lot features a brown plate from Griffin, Smith & Hill with a green center in a leaf design, marked to the underside ‘Etruscan Majolica GSH’; and a plate with a light tan rim scored with a brick pattern, and a green center with a pair of robed individuals, also produced by Griffin, Smith & Hill and marked ‘GSH’ to the underside. Also offered is a blue plate with a white water lily design, produced by Zeller Faneiken Geroge Schminder; and a plate with an ornate gold tone rim carved with scrolling foliate and vine designs, and a light blue center of a little girl playing with a doll, marked to the underside ‘V&B S’, for Villeroy & Boch, Niderlassung Schramberg.

- surface scratches consistent with use, some light crackle glazing, tiny chips to some edges, circle without glaze on lily plate, glaze wearing off edges of lily plate.
