A 1972 Whitney Museum of American Art exhibition poster for Calder’s Circus. Depicted is an abstracted trapeze performer holders a red banner that reads ’Calder’s Circus’. This is based on a wire sculpture by Alexander Calder (1898-1976) that was displayed in the exhibition. The blue text running across the top reads ‘Whitney Museum of American Art April 20- June 11, 1972’. It has a thin red frame and a wire to verso for hanging.
