A signed limited edition lithograph on paper titled Cocks Fighting by listed French artist Edouard Pignon (1905-1993). This work features two chickens fighting, surrounded by a web of foliage, rendered with thick sweeping delineations and vibrant colors. The work is signed by hand in graphite to the lower right; it is numbered 23 out of an edition of 100 to the lower left. Handwriting to the lower right edge reads the title, artist, and assumed medium. The lithograph is mounted on white foam board and wrapped in acetate.
Edouard was a painter, printmaker, and designer, known for his dynamic expressionistic compositions that often featured vibrant colors. His work has been collected by the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, among other renowned art institutions.
