A reproduction cast copper sculpture after a series of circa 1930 works in bronze and ivory by listed German sculptor Ferdinand Preiss (1882 – 1943). The Art Deco inspired piece, titled The Flame Leaper, features hand-painted details and depicts a daring female performer in a two-piece gold tone uniform. She is shown leaping dramatically in mid-air over red and bronze tone flames, as she holds a flaming torch in each outstretched arm. The item rests on a stepped agate base and is unmarked.
