An original oil on canvas titled Almost to Rio Costilla by Walt Gonske (born 1942). Known for his landscape, illustration and still life paintings, Gonske left the hustle and bustle of New York City for the beauty and tranquility of New Mexico. The work depicts a region of New Mexico which borders Colorado and the Rocky Mountains renowned for its great fly fishing. It is signed to the lower left Gonske, as well as to the verso, titled Almost to Rio Costilla and numbered #1727. The work is presented in a lightly carved wooden frame with an antiqued gold finish.
Condition
minimal wear. Some light markings and scratches to frame.
