Japanese Ukiyo-e Woodblock Prints Including Taniguchi Kôkyô, Utagawa Kunisada and Suzuki Harunobu

A grouping of three Japanese Ukiyo-e woodblock prints on paper. Included are Heron Girl by Taniguchi Kōkyō (谷口香嬌, 1864–1915). The work depicts a woman holding a parasol, it is marked in plate to the lower right. Also included is half of a diptych titled Iwai Kumesaburô III as Segawa of the Matsubaya, depicting an Kabuki actor in an interior setting by Utagawa Kunisada (歌川 国貞, 1786–1864). The third print by Suzuki Harunobu (鈴木 春信, circa 1725–1770) is titled Lovers under an Umbrella in the Snow. The pieces are all presented unframed.

Condition

- discoloration to prints; Taniguchi Kôkyô has light crease to lower right corner, Utagawa Kunisada has tape to upper and lower edges, large stain across lower edge; stains to left side, creasing and damage to all four corners; Suzuki Harunobu – stains and creasing to paper mat.
