An original large contemporary mixed media painting on canvas by very well-listed German abstract artist Alfred Gockel (born 1952), titled Tripping. The painting depicts an abstracted swirl of geometric shapes in bright colors outlined in stark black paint. A few of the forms seem to hint at human figures, but quickly fade back into abstraction. Textured additives such as sand have been applied to the paint in a few areas across the composition. The painting is signed in black to the lower right and is titled to the piece’s verso. It is presented in a very large composite frame with black and gold tone finishes and a hanging wire.
