An original 2017 contemporary mixed media painting with acrylic, plaster and resin on canvas by American artist and designer Melinda Esmond (20th/21st century). The image utilizes the rectangular shape of the canvas substrate to create a solid, neutral-colored plane of sensuous textures and sheen. White pigments are raked across pale, muted beiges and concrete grays, resulting in areas of scaly, primordial formations and ashy, marked terrain. Artist signature is signed and dated to the side of the canvas. This work is unframed, equipped to hang.
Esmond creates both commissions and original works inspired by her own “urban organic” aesthetic, often drawing texture and imagery from textiles used in her Interior Design career. She has exhibited at the Mojo Collection as well as other galleries in Kansas City’s reputable Crossroads Art District, and has pieces housed in permanent corporate and private collections across the nation.
