An oil painting on canvas of a shoreline by artist E. Aval. This Impressionist painting depicts a dreary coastal shore, which features sailboats docking near a rolling hillside accented with dry-brushed trees and various buildings to the distance. To the lower right corner of the composition is an artist signature. The painting is presented in a brass tone and black wooden frame featuring moulded acanthus leaf and palmette patterning to the surface. To the verso is affixed hanging wire, as well as an inscription on the frame leg noting it was made in Holland.

- to fair; frame missing multiple sections along lower leg; paint rubbing away from canvas near lower portion; wear to frame verso.
