A Chinese mixed media work on board. The piece depicts a robed figure attempting to restrain a running white horse with a black mane; the scene is set against a light brown background. The illustration includes hand-painted details in water-based paints throughout; it is signed "Xia shan" (夏山) characters to the lower right. The piece is presented without glass in an off-white wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
