Bernard Vernay Oil Painting on Canvas of a European Street Scene

An oil painting on canvas by Bernard Vernay (Dutch, born 1947). Executed in heavy impasto, the European street scene depicts figures walking down a wide avenue bordered by shop awnings. The two domes of a cathedral are visible above the rooftops, rising against the pale clouded sky. It is signed in the lower left and presented in a gold and black painted wooden frame with a wide linen fillet, that is wired for hanging.
