A hand-colored engraving on paper titled Hornby Castle, Yorkshire after an original work by listed artist J.M.W. Turner (1775 – 1851), engraved by William Radclyffe (1783-1855). Published by LONDON, VIRTUE and Co. limited. The piece depicts a rural landscape with multiple figures performing daily activities along a dirt path. The artist’s name, engraver’s name, title and publisher are printed to the lower margin. Mounted onto an off-white French mat with a plastic cover. The item remains unframed.
Condition
- minor discoloration to the mat; plastic has a rippled effect.
