Antique Landis "Fleming" Shoe Repair Sewing Machine

Item Details

An antique Landis ‘Fleming’ shoe repair sewing machine. The m achine dates to the early twentieth century, and is made of cast iron with nickel plated steel parts. It has a large wheel with a crank handle, marked ‘Landis – St. Louis Mo.’ The machine was designed as a wax thread lockstitch sewing machine, used for the repair of shoes, which won a medal at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition.
