George Harris Oil Painting on Canvas Landscape with Bridge
Item Details
An oil painting on canvas of a landscape with a bridge by British artist George Harris (1847-1915). Populated with a few villagers, this scene features a small bridge suspended over a rocky creek, surrounded by autumnal trees and overgrown foliage. The painting is signed ‘Geo. Harris’. It is presented in a Louis XV style gilt and gesso frame. A couple descriptive labels, one from W.T. Burger Company, are present to the verso.
Condition
- painting has been relined with canvas; minor paint loss along lower left edge of painting; cracks and small chips throughout frame; stains, scratches, and discoloration throughout frame; stains throughout verso.
