A limited edition serigraph titled Artesanos Elegantes by Amado Peña Jr. (born 1943). Descended from Mexican and Yaqui ancestors, Peña was born in Laredo, Texas. He received his formal training and degrees from Texas A & I. The work depicts a pair of American Indians draped in colorful, flowing blankets holding beautiful blackware and painted pottery. The taller figure has long flowing red hair while the seated figure wears a black wide-brimmed hat. The work is embossed with the artist’s seal to bottom left, numbered 33/100, titled Artesanos Elegantes to the center in pencil by hand and signed to the lower right. Triple matted, the print is presented under glass in a wide wooden frame with a white lacquered finish. Hanging hardware present to the verso.
