An oil painting on canvas of an estate landscape by British artist Charles Cutts Elmhirst (late 19th/early 20th century), created in 1899. This work features a large white estate building surrounded by autumnal trees and a vast green field throughout the foreground. The painting is dated and signed ‘C.C. Elmhirst’ to the lower right. It is presented in an ornate gilt and gesso frame with scrolling foliate molding. A couple descriptive labels are present to the verso.
Condition
- craquelure throughout painting; signs of in-painting scattered throughout edges of painting; reinforcement patch present to canvas verso; wear in frame includes scratches, stains, small chips, and discoloration throughout; small cracks throughout molding.
