A Chelaberd Kazak area rug. This wool rug is hand-knotted in an abrashed palette featuring shades of brown, taupe, hunter green, and cream. It begins with two large eagle medallions grounded in mocha, green, and cream and featuring stylized palmettes emanating on long stems from a core star shape in green. The medallions rest on a brown field, which is framed by five borders, grounded in green, taupe, mocha, and cream. These include running dog and meander patterns. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at either end with braided camel hair and wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
