Rare Chinese Qing Dynasty Red Lacquer Calligraphy Couplet
Item Details
A rare, Chinese Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) red lacquer calligraphy couplet. Two vertical panels of a wooden medium a painted in red lacquer with black Chinese calligraphy characters that read as “氣得春和懷同水靜’ and ’品因地峻趣與天長”. Each panel is housed within a beveled edge wooden frame with mounted metal hooks for hanging to the top.
Condition
- oxidation to metal hooks, heavy chipping to paint, scratches, marks to finish, etc; wear consistent with age and prior use.

16.75" W x 7.625" H x 1.0" D
- measurements reflect bottom of one panel to top of hook.
