Edie Harper Signed 1975 Limited Edition Serigraph "In the Garden"

Item Details

A signed 1975 limited edition serigraph by well-listed Cincinnati artist Edie Harper (1922 – 2010), titled In the Garden. The image, a playful interpretation of an Old Testament story, depicts a single haloed figure clad in a white robe, prayerfully holding a single flower plucked from the blossoming garden surrounding him. The print is signed, titled, and numbered 38/250 in pencil to the lower margin; mounted under burnt orange mat, behind acrylic glass in a metallic silver tone metal frame, equipped to hang. Original label for print is attached to the verso.
Edie Harper described herself as a “Jill of all trades trying to master one” since she had been successful in many areas of art including photography, wood sculpture, weaving, and jewelry design, as well as painting and printmaking. Her husband, well-known artist and illustrator Charley Harper, called her “the thinking man’s Bible illustrator.” Edie’s work has been exhibited at the Cincinnati Art Museum, Andover Art Museum, and the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, as well as many others.
