Ming Dynasty Chinese Tomb Attendant Statue
Item Details
A Chinese tomb attendant statue attributed to the late Ming dynasty, circa 1426-1619. This terracotta statue depicts a standing male figure, dressed in long green robes with a tall conical hat with a flaring. He holds one hand out to his side, with a hole through his fist, and would have once held an offering. This is presented with a certificate of authenticity from the Hong Kong Art Craft Merchants Association. Please see lot 17IND099-010 for a related statue.
Condition
- large chips to surface to top around neck line; heavy wear to finish; dirt encrusted on piece – especially around lower edge; head separate piece.
