A 2006 limited edition serigraph on heavyweight wove paper after the original book jacket design by reputed American graphic designer Alvin Lustig (1915 – 1955) for the 1945 publication of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s famed novel The Great Gatsby. This large reproduction was printed in 2006 by the Kind Company with permission from the artist’s wife, and is numbered 20/100 in pencil to the verso near a paragraph of publishing information. The attractive design features the book’s title and artist’s name printed in playful text against a large dollar sign framed in vivid yellow. The print is signed in-plate to the lower right. It is presented without matting or framing, and is currently housed in an acetate sleeve for safekeeping.
