An oil painting on canvas titled The Flower Gatherers by artist Florence J. Coghlan, created in the late 19th century. This work features a few children picking flowers along a rustic building in their rural village. A young girl waits in a wheelbarrow and a few farm animals, including a cat and chickens, are scattered throughout the scene. The painting is signed ‘J. Coghlan P.’ and illegibly dated to the lower right. The artist’s name, title, and date of the work are also engraved by hand on the stretcher to the verso. A descriptive label with a short bio of the artist is present to the verso. The painting is presented in an ornate Louis XV style gilt and gesso frame.

- signs of in-painting throughout lower edge of composition; small white scratches and white spots scattered throughout painting, visible along left edge, lower right edge, and central areas; wear in frame includes small chips, scratches, stains, and discoloration throughout.
