A 1917 rotogravure after an etching by Rembrandt Van Rijn titled Jan Cornelius Sylvius. It depicts a portrait of a seated man. An oval border with writing surrounds the image and Rembrandt created a trompe l’oeil effect by showing the sitter’s hand reaching out and casting a shadow over the border. It is mounted under glass in layered white mats and a beaded gilt wood fillet. The gilt wood frame is elaborately carved and wired for hanging. A Certificate of Authenticity from Delrey Fine Arts, Inc. Is attached to the verso.
