A pair of etchings on toned paper, titled US Coast Guard – Louisville and Kentucky Tobacco Auction, by Ohio-born artist Kent Hagerman (1893-1977). These detailed prints depict a waterscape of boats near the shores of a river, a long bridge and lightly atmospheric sky visible in the background, as well as a scene of men in hats and suits investigating stacks of bundled tobacco. Each print is signed in plate to the left edge and is titled and signed in pencil to the lower margin. They are presented behind wide white mats in brown frames with hanging hardware to the verso, along with notes from Liberty National Bank and Trust, noting the artist, title, and warranting that each etching is limited edtion.
Condition
- fair; toning and foxing to prints and mats; wear to frames; backing is torn on both; pieces are lightly dirty.
