Chinese Satsuma Style Hand-Painted Ceramic Vase
Item Details
A Chinese Satsuma style hand-painted ceramic vase. This piece depicts a red and gold tone pattern featuring a central image of cranes and pheasants, surrounded by a field of small dots and scattered cloud-like shapes. This vase has a flared mouth and is marked on the bottom ’Yong sheng cai ci chang” (永勝彩瓷廠), which has been identified by some scholars as the hallmark of the Yongsheng (Eternal Victory) Ornamented Porcelain Factory, which started to produce wares in the early Republic (1912-1949) in Hong Kong, and possibly mainland China as well.
