A hand-knotted Kashan Iranian area rug. The rug features a heavily populated off white field that is covered in floral palmettes and and lancet leaves in deep blue, light blue, black and cream. The field is enclosed by a compound border that features a herati pattern throughout in a complementary palette. It has an overcast edge with a cotton fringe and is not marked.
