Antique Spindle Back Rocking Chair

Item Details

An antique hardwood rocking chair with a spindle back. It has a carved crest rail with low-relief acanthus decoration, set between high ears with ellipsis finial, over vase and ball turned spindled back. The outward flared armrests are on vase and ball turned spindle supports. The seat features a star design pierced to the center, surrounded by wood fasteners. The turned legs have a double H-stretcher and plain rocker blades. Circa early 20th-century.
