Item Details
A vintage original oil painting on canvas by listed French artist Marcel Caradec (born 1901). The image depicts a European harbor scene in which sailboats come and go, and gondoliers make their ways through the currents. Fishermen ready their nets while others mend nets on shore. In the distance, the city lines the horizon with a great domed cathedral rising against the sky. Artist signature is signed to the lower right. This painting is mounted behind a beige liner in a wooden frame with opulent pierced cast moulding and a gold leaf finish, equipped to hang.
Condition
- craquelure and accretion across painting. Liner has some staining throughout. Finish of frame is chipped in several areas.
