1803 George Smith Sterling Silver Bon Bon Spoon

An 1803 sterling silver bon bon spoon by London silversmith George Smith. This features a gold washed openwork bowl with repoussé flower blossom ornamentation, and an arching tipped handle with bright-cut decoration. It is marked ‘G.S’ in a rectangular cartouche, and the four hallmarks of a lion passant, a crowned leopards head, ‘H’, and a King George duty mark. The approximate weight is 1.687 ozt.
