A signed offset lithograph after the original tempera painting by well-listed American genre artist Robert Fabe (Cincinnati, 1917-2004), titled After the Rain. Typical of Fabe’s somber, melancholy oeuvre, the painting depicts a group of unsupervised children playing in the slick, rain-soaked streets under a dreary gray sky, in one of Cincinnati’s high-altitude overlooking neighborhoods, such as Prospect Hill. The title and artist signature are signed in pencil to the lower margin. This print is mounted under coordinating matting, behind glass in a simple wood frame, equipped to hang.
