A collection of novels by John Steinbeck. Included is the six volume set of hardback editions published by P. F Collier and Son with various copyright dates. Included are Of Mice and Men and Other Short Stories (1947), The Grapes of Wrath (1939), In Dubious Battle (1936), The Wayward Bus (1947), Tortilla Flat (1935), and Cannery Row and Other Short Stories (1945). All six volumes were illustrated with black and white drawings by Ruth Gannett. Each is bound in brown cloth with blue decorations to the front cover and spine with the author’s name in red on the front. The lettering to the spine is gilt. Also included is an early edition of John Steinbeck’s satire novel The Short Reign of Pippin IV: A Fabrication. This yellow and orange cloth bound hardcover features a color illustrated dust jacket with a castle motif and medieval-style lettering, depicting the protagonist on a motor scooter. This book was published in New York in 1957 by Viking Press; the inside front dust jacket is marked “Book-of-the-Month Club Selection.”
